The 2013 Accord is the first Accord to feature Eco Assist™, Honda's revolutionary, fuel-efficiency technology. Eco Assist™ has two components that work together to help you get more miles from each fill-up.
ECON Button
Push the green ECON button and your Accord automatically configures its fuel-consuming systems to optimize efficiency. Push the button again to return to normal mode, and get the zip and acceleration back.
Coaching Bars
The speedometer is flanked on each side by coaching bars that change from white to green, depending on how efficiently you're using your fuel supply. Keep the bars in the green, and you'll go farther on a tankful.

AN EFFICIENCY EXPERT
The 2013 Accord Sedan is our most efficient Accord yet[1]. Four-cylinder models with our continuously variable transmission (CVT) are rated at 36 mpg highway, while V-6 models are rated at 34 mpg highway. And, to keep your trips to the pump as painless as possible, all Accord models run on regular, unleaded gasoline.

ULEV[2] and PZEV[3]-Rated
Honda was the first manufacturer to offer Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV)-rated emission technology[2] on a production vehicle. Today, the 2013 Accord offers the even stricter Partial-Zero-Emission Vehicle (PZEV) technology[3].
