Honda Rethinks the Sport Hybrid

The idea of a "Sport Hybrid" might sound oxymoronic, but we promise you it's not. Particularly when it comes to cars like the Honda CR-Z, the world's first production-model hybrid available with a six-speed manual transmission. That's right, it's more than just a sporty-looking hybrid coupe - it embodies the spirit of Honda in both looks and performance.

Stand-out features of the 2012 Honda CR-Z:

-16-valve, 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine with Integrated Motor Assist
-Six-speed manual or continuously variable transmission with paddle shifters
-Three driving modes: Sport, Normal, and ECON
-Idle-Stop feature that shuts down the engine when the vehicle comes to a complete stop
-13-hp motor linked to engine for a combined power output of 122 ponies, and 128 lb-ft of torque
-31 mpg city/37 mpg highway (manual transmission), 35 mpg city/39 mpg highway (CVT)*

The base model CR-Z includes a six-speaker audio system, Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control, Side Curtain Airbags, Security System with Remote Entry, AC with air-filtration, daytime running lights and LED brake lights. The CR-Z EX adds a seven-speaker audio system, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, Fog Lights, HID headlights with auto-on/off, a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and sport aluminum pedals. Need navigation? Top it all off with the CR-Z EX with Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation with Voice Recognition.

This is just the tip of the iceberg - the really fun part about the CR-Z is what it feels like to get behind the wheel.
