What's Under the Hood?

The engine is fit for this compact vehicle, a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder. Its horsepower runs just over 140 with 127 pounds per foot of torque. Its base model works on a continuously variable automatic transmission, though the higher-level trims transition to paddle shifters. The continuously variable transmission helps it boast fuel mileage of 28 city/34 highway on the base, front-wheel-drive model. You'll make it pretty far with a 13+ gallon fuel tank. All-wheel drive is available for each model but comes automatically in the Touring Model.

How Safe Is It?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the HR-V 5 out of 5 stars for safety scoring. The touring model's safety is even more significantly lauded, showing that this crossover has what it takes to endure damage on the road. Each trim level of the HR-V comes with six airbags as well as side-impact beams. Safety options increase with trim levels, including a sensing system that can warn drivers ahead of time regarding collisions and straying out of lanes. Emergency automatic braking is available, as is adaptive cruise control. Back up cameras are standard. Add the blind spot camera "LaneWatch" to get a real-time video loop of the blind spot on the side of the vehicle. This comes on when the right blinker is activated.

The Sport trim level includes phone integration via HondaLink, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, leather steering wheel and shift, roof racks, larger 18-inch wheels, an upgraded infotainment screen to 7 inches, and rear window tint.

The EX Trim

The EX trim level includes safety sensors, moonroof, automatic adjusting heat and air, keyless access, and heated seats and mirrors.

The EX-L Trim

The EX-L trim level adds leather seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and an amped-up audio system (180-watt).

The Touring Trim

The Touring trim level adds all-wheel drive, power driver's seat, navigation via satellite with real-time traffic, and an integrated Homelink garage remote.

Warranty

The 2021 Honda HR-V comes with a basic warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever is reached first for basic warranty coverage. It is five years or 60,000 miles, whichever is reached first on the power train. Feel confident in your coverage with this warranty.
